We have some very stupid, senile investors who think that the
government can "absorb" 20+ trillion dollars in debt in a 1 trillion
dollar budget. Doesn't quite add up. They are going to destroy the
currency, as well as the overall economy. The dollar is collapsing,
oil is skyrocketing again. Hyperinflation would be the result, if
Congress does what the President wants. They won't.

Correct. At this stage, the rich are just screwing themselves.
There's no one else left to screw.

Actually, socializing the loses and privatizing profits it is rather
communism. The similarity between them is evident.
A small oligarchy take decision in the name of everybody else, pickpocket
all the profits but socialize the loses.
Here is a fragment from an older post where I explained what communism was
from the economic point of view:
========================================================================
.......
If you look everywhere, NOT A SINGLE communist was democratic NOR
egalitarian. The claim that "communism was egalitarian" it was nothing more
than a pathetic propaganda lie, exactly as every corporation today say
that "we care for our employee. YOU are our biggest asset".
I explained to you the facts about the communism last year, but you seems
not to remember them.Let try again:
Just take a second to try to think of the basics. Can you own a planet in
Andromeda ? No. Why? Because you can not have any form of control over it.
Now, if you understand that, then you also got the idea that the relation of
ownership imply the ability to control the good owned.

Just because you can't find anyone to screw,
doesn't mean we're all experiencing a drought.
Keep that in mind.

this bailout looks sure like a recipe for hyperinflation
the proposal is to add 700 bn to the monetary base. the federal
reserve puts the current monetary base at about 850 billion -
http://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/h3/Current/
so the monetary base is set to almost double. using the magic of
fractional reserve banking this will be multiplied many times over.
the dollar will lose value rapidy if this becomes law.
you think they'll ban shorting long term gov bonds?

Only to those who dont have a clue. Its a lot less than has been
pissed against the wall in Iraq, and that didnt produce hyperinflation.

money can be taxed and spent by government without adding to the
amount of money in circulation.
