I wont argue with your points Joseph, merely note that mental
dysfunction is at such a high level, perhaps increasing, that we cannot
depend on rational choices, either at the polls, or by the elected leaders.

Its not hard to trace the evolution of myth and see it plagiarized for
insertion into the Bible. Nor is it hard to apply a psychological
analysis to see how the Levantine scriptures were created to pander to
the instincts of the alpha male and justify his effort to dominate.

The moral values based on scripture are therefore discredited. Now, the
history is obscure, but the Nag Hammadi, for one, shows us how gnostics
were repressed by the alpha male political systems, as they have done
for every other tradition that relied on meditation, sacred potions, or
other means of achieving an altered state of consciousness to reveal the
truth of existance.

Its not that everyone has spiritual enlightenment, but there is no
effort on the part of such traditions to force belief on them. If AZ
nomad dont get it, I dont have a problem with it. But all of us can
agree that the Levantine scriptural reliance on force... sux.

I dont have a problem with that at all. The problems are created by the
demagoguery in the pulpits spouting racism, classism, or demonization of
secularism. That power could be dramatically discredited by the use of
some of these sacred entheogenic potions.

Those jackasses are even willing to start a nuclear war to attack those
who they think have the wrong sacred text or name of god.

Of course, there was/is a lot of pulpit-spouting but most of it, I
feel, was genuine enough, however erroneous. Secondly, to base a
corrective future on the use of potions is bizarre, to say the least.
When and if human beings finally create a viable, an intelligent and
an equable human society it must be based on a recognition of our
situation and a realisation of our abilities.

"Change your mind, Change Your Life" is one of the books reporting on
new neurological data and FMRI brain mapping. The Stoics were right; the
mind is like a muscle, and the right kind of diet and exercise can make
it more effective.

But lets start with the realization that the modern diet is deficient in
real nutrition and contaminate with petrochemicals as well. Lotsa kid's
minds did not develop properly. And it'll take pretty strong medicine to
have any impact on that at all.
