Are you tired of TV portraying Jesus?

Author: ComandanteBanana

I ain't talking about the Christian Network, which I assume you'd only
watch if you are a hardcore sheep, but about "realistic" channels like
History Channel, which constantly bombard us with religious nonsense,
clearly catering to the Christian mind, having though the patina of
realism...

So it is that they perpetuate the myth of a superhero, who turns very
much unlike Hollywood's heroes: a nonviolent loser. :(

This is a review by a believer...

'...although it comes out all hallelujahs and hosannas for us
believers, with the excuse to build gothic cathedrals and tell actress
and bishop jokes, as a drama, it's a bit of a fizzler: a parable
without a punch line, or, indeed, much of a punch. Commando
revolutionary enters capital to stir up patriotic fervour with
hardcore buddies. Whacks moneylenders. Chats up good-time girl. Wins
argument with quisling. So far, so good. Then, he gets captured,
humiliated, tortured and nailed to a tree. The bankers go back to the
temple, the Romans back to government and the quisling's still in
charge.

Well, we not only possess all evidence, but we outnumber you 10:1.

So stuff it.

Believe it or not, I'll watch the 700 Club on occasion for comedy
relief. They are a parody unto themselves. Almost as outrageously
funny as Southpark. I used to love to watch Jimmy Swaggert go into his
sweaty rants. And Oral Roberts..jeez..would you buy a used car from
that joker ? Its a riot.

Agreed. It's high time some documentary on the History channel showed JC as
the intolerant, dogmatic rabid racist pig he was (if he existed). But don't
hold your breath. If you want to be free from JC propaganda I suggest you
emigrate. Otherwise you are fucked. Well, if you are in the USA you know you
are fucked, dont you?

Re: Where are Jesus' bones?

Animal Planet shows me the skeletal remains of the Tiranosaurus Rex,
but History Channel hasn't come up with Jesus bones. He must have left
something behind, a pair of sandals, a supermarket receipt for the
last supper...

The other day they showed the so-called "Jesus boat," which turned out
to be a boat that any fisherman from that era could have used.

I just want want to see
--for all the big money they spend researching
Jesus-- to see something substantial. Or else I'll tune to the
cartoons channel. ;)

If you care to look, I think you'll find Jesus's bones right next
to Thor's hammer, Desdemona's handkerchief, and Spock's tricorder.

Cheers,
