Are there serious Philosophy groups somewhere?

I'm searching for a serious philosophy group open to non-academics and
new thinking but preferably monitored to screen out spam and the most
certifiable of the crazies. Where do all the intelligent thoughtful
people who are driven off this group go to discuss actual philosophy?

Thanks,
Edgar

OK so whom do you wish to talk about?

My all time favorite is William of Ockham (1300 - 1349)

*Ockham Razor*
Simply put, is the belief that when all things are considered, the simplest
explantion is the truest one.

Sorry, everyone is crazy. Evolution has made us so. Even the
"serious" philosopher.

I'd say he is just another brain dead Kantian, they like to pretend
that a preceding adjective changes the meaning of the noun it
precedes.

This is the international "base camp" of philosophy. We have currently
1693 people in here man from all parts of the world. Only 83 members
are brave enough to be challenged. The rest appear occaisionally. We
83, accourding to google's statistics cannot be beaten. Put em up
locee dokee or stand back and watch.

Actually here we are altogether, our other bases for hitching the
cyber-highways, but the others are mostly subrooms to the main place
right here.

Dunno! But try looking in the same place that consciousness and a
gallon of water go when they too have emptied their content!
