you're not telling me, seriously, that its worth reading hilary putnam
beyond a wikipedia article?

combined with google wikipedia certainly i'd agree - though why you single
out continental philosophy - perhaps it that its literature style makes it
more sexy to read?

Try random lines from the last chapter of 'Lie Down in Darkness'. It
adds a touch of psychosis (the really hot kind; like Catherine Deneuve

Tautological with what? The idea that knowledge relates to something other -
a very enlightened thought. For po-mo isn't it that philosophy attempted a
tautology - and failed.
