Archons of Democracy Upturned
In Athens almost all was known
our time; the shroud as flag is flown
in ancient archon's times were cast
dreams of Solon; from then, to last
for the leaders were as much as led
in senate sharing, they and also fed
amidst a forum where truth was told
of the simpler times; less to withhold
as Cleisthenes refined the dreaming
deme citizens now in Athens teaming
before the forum of voice inclusive
birth of democracy; not truth illusive
so even as we laud our way
in the secrets we do also stray
from democracy in pure abide
no longer; as we choose to hide
