any suggestions what to do on global warming?

the ice caps are melting the ozone is depleting and the
long term forcast is overshadowed and outlook duller
than Wednesday next March.... and then they tell us its
all slowly going to freeze.

Is'nt this all some indication, never likely to happen at all
because we trust we have the geniuses and manic
depressives to supply the solution to our problems?
(or are they all now on drugs so hard they can't ....
....ummmm....continue....umm I forget what it was..I'm sure
I wanted to go for a rest,..., eh? what was that you just said?,
I thought I saw your lips move...did someone mention some
sort of chamber with gas in it?..... Hullo?)

or shall we go nuclear, or green and make an effort to starve
a little bit, biding our energies to avert a crisis of greater
famine or greed.

While waves continue to be characterized by crests (highs) and troughs
(lows), whatever the sea level, they are not a handy guide to the
general sea level, but merely to the disturbances on or near the
surface.

Correct but not necessarily germane to the discussion. Waves do
reflect wind, and wind is and indicator of temperature differences,
and temperature differences are a reflection of energy levels.

My suggestion is to do what makes sense and not rely on the popular press
nor politic to lead the way. They are more part of the problem than part
of solution.

Thinking in terms of a grand 'our' is too numbing.

There being only ONE solution is a massive mistake and only invites
massive ambitions and so greed. Many countries span different climate
zones and so have different ways to most easily access power. Even areas
inside these same zones have different resources available.

Diversity here is good. What I think best though is each person act and
judge for themselves and not wait to be led or 'saved'.

Well, for sure, its not upta us. What we can do only relates to the
local ecosystem we reside in, and whether we get to survive in it.

The only vote you have that counts is that you do with your feet, or a
U-Haul; move to a survivable ecosystem. Which that will be depends on
both the local climate change, and the economic situation. So, lets
start with the latter. We see the market volitility.

So- you dont want to be in an urban area that needs lots of
infrastructure support for survival. Lets remember that one of the
things a free market can do is panic. Dont be in the way.

The rise to Hubbard's Peak oil followed a smooth bell curve. We seem to
be at the apex. Hominids being as they are, as the supply no longer
expands to meet demand, the price rises. As the price rises so does the
greed, and as that rises so do the efforts to use violence to try to
control a source. And, unfortunately, that violence damages the
infrastructure, which drives down production.

If you drive down production, you drive up the price, the greed, the
violence, and drive down production even further with every iteration.
Coming off Hubbard's peak oil is not likely going to follow the same
smooth bell curve, but drop off a cliff. End of CO2 emmissions.

Day, if you didn't snip everything from a post, others would be able to
follow what the current context is.

If the following is addressed to me as a wise tip, save your pixels, I wrote
the book on it. Been there, done that, bought the tie dyed T shirt long ago.
Walk the talk iow.

check the 9/11 thread reply to PHD for added insights. :)

have fun.

still cutting alt.community from replies. same reason, some things never
change. lol

I've decided to garden organically (it started
a few years ago with herbs and veggies) when
I really wanted a reasonably safe garden in
which the youngsters could or can play around
in there. I thought I'd buy a goat...a sort of
organic lawn mower that recycles grass cuttings
into milk and when family tame, quite vicious and
terrotorial guard against all sorts of garden pests.
ie human.

but I read that methane from farm animals, is just
as likely to create a hazard to the ozone ??

We have a problem with allergies, an over farmed
variety of crops cultivated on purpose for markets
in mass proportions. I'm not too sure about
horticulture, but pollens and irritation and by products
etc do have some effect somewhere or on the kinds of
persons who have sensitivity somehow (their wallets
perhaps)
