Hey Brian,

Okay, I don't see an obvious contradiction between material wealth and
spirituality.

Personally, I grew up in the 60’s where blatant displays of
materialistic gains were somewhat frowned upon as “vices” of the
previous generation (who grew up during the depression).
Coincidentally, I have never desired much in the way of possessions,
but I don’t elevate myself philosophically because of it. I just
didn’t care about “stuff”; if other people “liked” to acquire as many
objects as they could, well, more power to ‘em. If I got shelter,
food, & clothing and sufficient resources to exist without fear of
physical anguish, then I’m good…
