If natural resources were unlimited
-- that is, if there was enough
water, food, clean air, energy, land etc. so that everyone could have
as much as they wanted, and those natural resources were plenty enough
so that they could be replenished and/or maintained indefinitely --
then what reason would there be to wage war?

Power, pure and simple.

An attempt to change that situation by increasing the population.
Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom.

That depends... do you consider beautiful women a natural resource?

Why would people who had as much of anything as they wanted want power?

But who would want to change the situation and for what reason?

Having an authority backed by the threat of violence to enforce who
can and cannot reproduce doesn't sound like freedom to me. Just ask
the Chinese.

So if everyone had everything they wanted, then you could no longer
try to accumulate things to lure women. The McMansion and sports car
just doesn't have the same appeal when everyone who wants them already
has them. You'd have to rely on your character/personality/good looks
etc.
This is a good thing, no?
