This is just a goofy AA slogan. AA is, of course, that religious
organization that purports to be the only cure for the disease
of alcoholism. Nevertheless, this can't really define the word
"insanity," for reasons the poster Jack pointed out, and for
the simple reason that it doesn't even capture the essense
of psychotic mental illness.

Actually, as Nietzsche told us, "Insanity in individuals
is rare, in peoples, nations, parties, and races it is
the rule." Where would we be without Nietzsche's
honest sense of humor? I'd add 12-step organizations,
churches, and mass protests to the list, but that's sort
of implied by induction.
