"Doing the same thing, over and over again for decades, and still expecting
a different result."
And yet still many people believe that substantial structural change in the
way politics and economics works is anathema, impossible, or not necessary
in the world today despite all signs and evidence to the contrary.
Of course underpinning all this is the way the majority of people continue
to think, and what they choose as being of greater value over other
available options. Yet there are none so blind as those who refuse to look
in the first place. Others just need a little help.
Consider the following definition on a mass scale across a nation or a
civilisation ..... what would it look like overall, and how would it
manifest across varying groups and individuals?
Paranoic Type Schizophrenia - a form of schizophrenia characterized by
delusions (of persecution or grandeur or jealousy); symptoms may include
anger and anxiety and aloofness and doubts about gender identity; unlike
other types of schizophrenia the patients are usually presentable and (if
delusions are not acted on) may function in an apparently normal manner.

Sometimes I do the same thing over & over and expect different results and
get different results. Like rolling dice. Like target shooting.

This is just a goofy AA slogan. AA is, of course, that religious
organization that purports to be the only cure for the disease
of alcoholism. Nevertheless, this can't really define the word
"insanity," for reasons the poster Jack pointed out, and for
the simple reason that it doesn't even capture the essense
of psychotic mental illness.

Well, we could all stand lower taxes. But that's not
something new.

That's great Jack! I'm sure you're all the more happier for that. :)

Sean: I'm not responsible for who else may have used such a saying. It's
just a saying.
And I'm not diagnosing "psychotic mental illness". See a doctor if you or a
friend have such concerns. :)
