Since everything was messed up by Florida and Michigan and the
jingoistic media getting caucus voters to vote for their candidate and
too clever by half Repugs voting for whom they believe to be the
weaker Dem in open primaries, why not have, at least until the
Democrats redo the rules, a single nationwide closed primary to decide
the nominee?
We could plan this for sometime in July.
No caucuses. No open primaries. Just one big nationwide vote.
For Democrats only.

I.E., "since it looks like my favorite candidate is going to loose, how
about we change the rules near the end of the race?"
Despite the fact that Clinton wants to change the rules and admit extra
delegates, and despite the fact that she won all those republican votes
in the open primaries (people who *wont* vote for her if it was her vs
McCain,) she is still loosing.

Or better yet, Hillary could just seize Washington on behalf
of the working class. Perhaps the UN would lend troops.

So start gettin' your ammonium nitrate stockpiles ready to go!

The hell with glaznost!

Even better, why bother putting any other choices on the ballot?
Multiple choices are so hard on those who suffer from dementi
--
a growing demographic, by the way. Just a happy face with
the appelation Her by it. The Inevitable Candidate ain't what
she used to be. How sad.

If that were true Obama should win the nationwide _closed_ primary,
shouldn't he?
If Obama opposes a nationwide _closed_ primary it's only because he
knows his votes in open primaries came from the GOP.
And come November those Rightards will vote for McSame.
Yea, it obvious we'll be in Iraq until Democrats learn to think
critically.
No one can disagree with that last statement.

That's exactly why we need the _nationwide_ closed primary in July.

Of course, even if after bending all the rules that can bend, if Clinton
still can't get elected then we need a redo... Why don't you just say,
"we need to just appoint Clinton." instead of acting like you are trying
to be fair.

Yes.

Wrong. He should oppose it because it would be a huge expense on the
American people with absolutely no reward for anybody.

Because we don't change rules in the middle of the game.

Sorry. Busy having a BBQ then.

My goal isn't to nominate either Clinton or Obama but a competitive
Democrat so we can get most of the troops out of Dumbya's quagmire
before 2011.
As it stands now, even Obama's supporters tacitly admit Obama cannot
win a majority of his _own_ party.
What does this say about the general election?
