I was watching an video interview with Martin Odersky (the designer of Scala), in which he said that lazy evaluation was a hot idea back in the '90s, but people realized since then that it wasn't a good idea. I've... that the one of the main authors of Haskell/ GHC said that the "next Haskell" will be strict. Is it fair to say that there is a consensus that lazy programming didn't pan out?
