Trying to install Skype on MDV2007.1
Downloaded Skype 2.0.0.68-mdv.i586.rpm from Skype site for Mandriva distro.
Upon installation (using KDE GUI) I get the following msg :

The following packages have bad signatures:
/home/frank/tmp/skype-2.0.0.68-mdv.i586.rpm: Invalid signature (NOT OK
(no key): /home/frank/tmp/skype-2.0.0.68-mdv.i586.rpm: Header V3 DSA
signature: NOKEY, key ID d66b746e)
Do you wish to continue ? My reply : No

On a previous attempt I replied : Yes and continued with installation
, but sound is very distorted (Skype testing service)

Prior to my latest attempt I did a urpme skype.

How to proceed from here , any remedies ?

TIA for advice

Frank

It simply means the pgp/gpg public key is not on the rpm keyring.
If you want to add it, to get rid of this warning, go to
http://pgp.zdv.uni-mainz.de:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0x0275AF82D66B746E
copy everything from -----BEGIN to END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----
Open a text editor, past the text into it, save it as a file called key.asc,
then, as root run "rpm --import key.asc".

The sound is a seperate problem, which I can't help with.

The errata for Mandriva 2008.1 say that you have to run Skype with
Pulseaudio disabled for sound to work correctly.

================================
Dave, Thank you . I thought the sound quality was associated with
possible improper installation of the prog .

I tried again and feedback from the Skype testing service is now OK
