Installation of the free version went smoothly as did getting a DVB card to
work. However, I could not find a 'make','gcc' nor where to get kernel
sources. Advice would be welcome.

gui way to copy a DVD movie to a single layer DVD??

Author: Roger

Hi,
I have for a long time now used K3B for my burning needs, and it have
served me very well. Today, for the first time, I desided to try to copy
a movie I have, an old one and I thought that it would be nice to have a
backup. K3B works as a dream, I could choose to make a ISO file and all
that is well, but since I only have a single layer burner and hence are
restrained to burn only 4Gb, I was a little pussled that K3B only chose
to make a ISo file with a size of 7,5Gb...Are there any means of
shrinking this file so it could fit into a "ordinairy" 4Gb DVD from
within K3B? or are there any other gui way to do this under Linux?

All the best

Roger

Transfer NG msgs from Thinderbird to /home/

Author: Highland Ham

Although it is not really a problem , I would like to understand what's
happening.

In MDV2007.1

To build-up my knowledge I used to store certain messages from this NG
in a Thunderbird folder.
Recently I have started to copy NG messages to my /home/frank/Linux
folder, through the usual 'right hand mouse click' .

Using the KDE GUI the icon shows a @.
However when I click the icon to read the msg I get the following box
: Malformed URL , mhtml:/home/frank/Linux/
and I can't access the file

When I now copy the file to the desktop , the icon changes to an
envelope and when clicking I can then read the file through kwrite.

Question : Why does the file type changes when I move it to the desktop
such that it becomes accessible ?

Frank
