  Floppy version/Backpack CD boot

Author: eric
Date: Jan 11, 2007 17:58

When will FreeDOS be available on floppies?

In the alternative, does anyone know how to modify the FreeDOS boot floppy
(or the smartbootmanager program) so that I could boot the CD version from
a backpack CDrom on my parallel port?

  Kernel Bug

Author: Jason Burgon
Date: Dec 15, 2006 22:06

I've found a bug in the FreeDOS 1.0 kernel, or at least non-conformant
behaviour.

Function 29h - Parse filename into FCB returns zero in AL (path valid) for
all root drive names ('A:', 'C:' etc) up to LASTDRIV. All other DOS's I've
used return FFh (invalid drive specifier) for the root names of non-existant
drives.

My (and some Borland) code use this function to create a list of valid
drives for the host machine.

  React OS

The site http://www.ReactOS.org went down
as just I decided to download React OS.
Is there any other alternative to download this OS?
