FWIW I'm writing this from a Red Cross shelter in a deep southern
Louisiana parish. The area got hit by Hurricane Gustav a week ago.
The power is generally off down here and will be off for another week
or two. There are plenty of roofs torn off of buildings and quite a
few people wondering what they are going to do about jobs because
several employers got trashed. In the land of (normally) fresh seafood
and good Cajun food we are giving away plenty of MREs because people
are hungry. We are giving away plenty of water because people are
thirsty. There is a curfew here and the Nat'l Guard is in control.
My girlfriend and I have been putting in 14 hour days since we got
here. We have elderly folks in the shelters that I have visited,
some of whom have serious medical issues.

And despite all of that the people have been uniformly nice and polite
and, dare I say it, a lot more sane than Old Odd Anderson and her
various nyms. There is a certain dignity that I am seeing here that I
am not seeing on usenet and certainly not seeing with Karen Anderson
and her sockpuppets.

We have actually been so impressed with the area that we have
discussed coming back to visit and explore once we get finished with
our disaster work.

So I guess that the moral of the story is that 1) you don't know me
from Adam and I sure as hell am not in "love" with Karen Anderson.
Anderson is a serial stalker of several men. I think that she's just
trailer trash and certainly below the standards set by my friends. If
you can't see that for youself, or if you want to pick an argument
with me for whatever personal reasons, then ... basically ... BFD.
2) I am quite busy, and at this point in the game am seeing the
entire Anderson Circus as just being really pathetic. She was amusing
once upon a time, and then I enjoyed kicking her and her nyms to the
curb, but now she's simply pathetic and I am becoming less and less
inclined to associate with her and anyone that supports her.
