I had picked Doc's but I just called and they said they are closed til
September...
Scratch that off the list. In lieu of that, I'd prefer the chippy if we can
determine that it will be open Saturday.
Did you ever hear of non-brewed condiment? That's what was traditionally used
(especially in North England) for "malt vinegar." Non-brewed condiment is food
grade acetic acid. It's usually purchased at high concentration and then
watered down to about 9 or 10%% acidity, whereas malt vinegar is 5%% and brewed
from barley. It really does kick ass as it rushes though your head if you put
more than a few drops on the fish and chips. Anyway I love the taste of it even
if it is not real vinegar. I've been trying to buy some but I can only buy it
in bulk which would be more than enough to last me for the next 500 years.
Anyway, I was thinking the Chippy might sell me a bottle.
Saturday is a big day at Old Town where folks bring their classic cars. It does
thin out in the Summer but I can't imagine the restaurant closing during the
biggest day of the week? Even if it is closed there are a couple of bars only a
few doors away.
