Quick samples of todays posts that you missed and that you cannot
troll. Especially painful, since only Sarah and Ken are reading this
newsgroup these days ;) ---

~~~
When everything was said and done I wound up going with a set of LED
tail lights from a company called Triplex-Globe-Ranger that sells a
line of lights under the Glo-Brite label.
I'm quite happy with the appearance and the quality of the lights but
I do have a question or two, and perhaps this should be the start of
another thread.
Our 'bird (1982 PT-40) originally had a pair of red lights on each
side. I have rewired everything with the idea of having tail light and
brake functions on the top and bottom lights, and the center lights
are amber turn signals.
To my surprise the way that my lights are wired the turn signals come
on with the brake lights.
A pal of mine copied and pasted his state vehicle code - for South
Carolina - and it is indeed legal there.
We decided that it may not be legal in California. They have odd laws
out there, compared to the various other states.
I'll check Florida and the Federal codes when I get a chance.
Not sure what the original lights were but they have been changed to
sealed LED units.
Actually, yes, they built some of these buses with the same tail
lights that are on Prevost buses. This one only has red but I have
seen amber in the multi-section lights:
Mine are clear LED's that only show a color when they are
illuminated:
That, and few folks, especially highway cops and diesel cops (it's the
CHiPS that do truck inspection in California IIRC), are familiar with
motorhomes, their ages, the various models, and what is or is not
original equipment.
At any rate, I'll take my chances with California when I get out there.
You might have missed their disclaimer:
"State of Florida.com is not associated in any way with the state
government of Florida or any government agency."
My guess is that they just glossed over the possibility of amber being
used as a stop light since it's so unusual.
