Same as the 5.56 John. .223 is caliber and 5.56mm is european/NATO
standard. Yep it's confusing. :)

Marine snipers these days are issued a custom made sniper rifle in .308 cal
bolt action which is modeled after the Remington 700 .
They build these special weapons down at Quantico. In addition they are
also going to the .50 cal BMG more and more.
