I caught it about 20 after. They're in commercial now. He sure was
amazing...and lived to be 86. He seemed to have several changes of
clothes. Did he wash them in the cold water of the lake? No detergent?

He had to be a very eccentric guy to live like that. Didn't even have a
cat or dog for company.

Could you live like he did?

He was 52 when he went up there! Thirty years he remained...

No, I couldn't have. I was a boozer and partied away half my life,
wondering what it was all supposed to mean. Watching The Who right
now, Live at Leeds. Christ. It was like last night.

Yes. I believe I do. The only legitimate use of one's life is to
reduce the suffering of the sufferers. In one way or another, let that
be what guides you.

I think I have come to understand that, too. I've read some of the
"near death" experiences and they seem to conclude that we MUST be KIND
to others...it's all about KINDNESS. Many people are naturally kind in
this life, but far too many are selfish, greedy and
self-centered....it's all about ME ME ME and they only TAKE, never truly
GIVE of themselves to make life a little (or a lot) better for someone
else. I don't believe there can be a place in Heaven for those people.
