Current pet hate is people who leave uncommented "debug only" code in production code. As for OP's pet hate, I once got criticised by some Fortran Old-Timers for ... had no interest in software progress. So maybe my pet hate No 2 is people who refuse to use new language/... in my time had to deal with a lot of legacy code, and could make quite a few unkind comments about it...
