This recording just proves the magnificence of the ENTIRE band live
pre-Diver Down IMHO. "Take Your Whiskey Home", "Light Up The Sky",
"Running With The Devil", "Cradle Will Rock" (what there is of it) are
all by the book and yet have a live quality that even the recorded
versions can't match. Everyone is in sync, singing, guitars and drums.
DLR's raps are witty and yet don't go on bloody forever. He sings the
actual lyrics... ALL the lyrics... in KEY. It's a beautiful sound from
the days when he was a frontman and a singer.

I'd buy 10 copies of a professionally produced version of Van Halen
live from the Fair Warning era or before. I loved a lot of the Van
Hagar era, but I already have copies of them live. It's this kind of
stuff that needs to be brought, kicking and screaming if necessary,
into the light for mass consumption.
