New Halloween movie...

I went to see the new Halloween movie by Rob Zombie, and I didn't think
it lived up to the hype. It was good, but not nearly as gruesome as
everyone was saying. I think that Rob Zombie should have gone for an
NC-17 rating instead of toning it down for the more marketable R.

And I was expecting Michael Myer's childhood to be more disturbing, but
it really wasn't worse than that of lots of American kids. And I think
Zombie made a mistake trying to humanize Michael, because you almost
feel sympathy for him as he kills the people who tormented him. And
they still don't explain his supernatural ability to survive direct
gunshot wounds to the head.

i dont' think rob zombie is in it to make gruesome shit... there's
already plenty of that... i saw his first movie and it had like an
artsy feel to it, one of the best cinematographic experiences of
my life, and i only saw it on a small t.v. screen and it still
rocked... the 1000 corpses one... i'll wait till they air this one
on IFC. i assume they will.
