Well, fans of Jason Statham won't be disappointed, even if, as one reviewer
noted, it is 90 minutes before he comes to blows with an opponent.
"Fact is stranger than fiction" as the saying goes, and this movie is
based on a true story - of amateur bank robbers who seized on an opportunity
offered to them, by an associate who, in turn, was tipped off about it.
As the end credits say - names have been changed to protect the guilty;
but most else is the same.
Jason Statham is Terry Leather, a minor car dealer who has shady
connections, and is being lent on by a couple of heavies demanding payment.
Hence a get-rich-quick scheme would solve a lot of problems, so,
together with some chums, he gets to work.
The theme is reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes and "The Red Headed League"
but not so round-about. Yet there are wheels-within-wheels, and a lot of
elitist persons have an interest in the outcome - including the Secret
Service, politicians, and the police.
While jewels, cash, and other goodies, is the aim of the gang, there is
also one particular safety deposit box which is of interest - at least to
one of the gang.
Things get nicely hectic as the Authorities close in, and what will be
the final outcome? ...
