Motorcycle Event in NJ (26th and 27th)
Less than a week from right now, The Ride 2008 is taking place in West
Orange, NJ (07052)
The Ride 2008 is raising funds for a youth program that does mentoring,
outreach and missions on a large scale for the area. The kids can use all
the help we can give them so after 18 years of volunteering for the
organization, I've decided to turn our yearly ride into an event to benefit
them directly.

Hi!
I wrecked the Black BOX (speaker) on my old model Gorilla Alarm
Part# 6007, and I wuz wondering if anybody was upgrading to the Gorilla
Alarm #7007+, and might have a broken old model 6007 Gorilla Alarm for sale,
with the BOX/Speaker intact/working........

"Ducati designs motorcycles with racing in mind, so power, light
weight and agile handling tend to crowd out characteristics like
comfort.
"As a result, some models have seemed more like torture racks, suited
for only the most dedicated, physically fit and perhaps masochistic
riders. But the new Ducati 848 is different..."

At last. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=3711
New battery went in no probs, fired up OK. Ton of smoke, some coming from
the joins in the exhaust :-o
Need to give it a run to blow the cobwebs off, etc., but the wife works
weekends so I'm kinda stuck indoors with the kids.
Will have to wait until Monday to go to work on it and hope I don't get
pulled over for the exhaust, not that a blown exhaust makes much of a
difference to the noise :-)

Hi All,
I can answer Trevor's dilemma, the answer for me is the Sport 1000.
Today my other bike, a Bandit 1250S needed it's first service, so what demo
would Rob ask for?
Choice between GT1000, 848, 1098, or a Honda Goldwing & scooters.
When the 1098S came out, I had a ride on it, and that was a little over 12
months ago, and I was 55 not nearly 56 as now, and the body sure has aged
faster than time I think.
The 1098 was remembered as a snug fit but over powered, as it accelerated
like a demon possessed.
For the price asked it did not fit my needs (closer to sport tourer), and
the GSXR1KK6, on discounted price, was a better compromise. It's turned out
to be the right choice for me, more comfortable in every way, and more than
enough go factor, and 240kM before the fuel light comes on.
The bike that I hoped for then was the 848 for this time now (Bandit won,
without a ride on the 848, I knew that I am too stiff in the joints!) based
on the 1098S and very fond memories of the 748 and 749. The 1098 to me was
more comfortable a ride than the 7's.

Time to prop the tank up, charge the battery and crank it over. Undo the
breather pipe, is the tank stuck to the frame now? Frack me it's on there
tight, bit of leverage needed, oh shit, what was that, oh bugger, 'twas
the catch that holds the tank down that just snapped. Moral: Don't work on
bike before 3rd cup of coffee!
