Maladin and Muzzy say he was the most naturally talented racer they've
ever seen. Cycle World said he recently got picked up for purse
snatching on a beach in his homeland of Australia. Apparently, his
last attempt at employment an application to Subway.

All the potentially good racing we were deproved of because humans
have a fucked up personality trait of feeling they have the right to
force other's to live by their rules. Humanity can kiss my ass!

It's benn threatening with cloulds to the East for a week now but we
had our 1st downpour starting about 10:00PM tonight. It's the only
relief from the heat we get in the summer; albeit higher humidity but
lower 100's in temps.Thunder, lightening and wind abound as I speak, AZ
is 2nd only to Florida in lightening strikes per year..

Hi,
almost 500 miles on BT016 (16s) has passed. first impression: it is so
different from Pilot Roads (PRs). second impression: it have something
in common with BT021 (21s) according to my very vague recollections,
some unpredictability I would say. preliminary verdict: they are very
good at things they are good at and like to be kept warm. no need to
panic in the wet.
test1 (day1):
-------------
right after mounting them I took a short ride and headed to my benchmark
place. which is a four leaf clover shaped set of interstate ramps. no
big traffic, good pavement, relatively safe. and you can ride it
infinitely :-). the major minus is that is right turn only. my cars
start to give a squeaky noise around 45-50MPH. I was able to do 50MPH on
PRs without pushing the envelope. Now 16s are doing very well at 55MPH.
Speeds are obviously not very accurate. the felling between is.
however when returning to home on the second to last turn, the rear
skidded badly. never happened on PRs.

Hi,
Reading FZ-1 forum I came across this one: http://tinyurl.com/4uolev
quote from the quote in the quote:
"""
Suzuki’s SV1000 will be dropped from next year’s product lineup, and
‘there’s a good chance the 650 will be discontinued. We don’t have a
motorcycle that fits in. I think two of my counterparts don’t have
motorcycles that fit.’
"""
Indeed, it is hard to find a SC-650 in Chicago land dealers. Is not
supposedly a popular bike? I am confused.

Can anybody enlighten me as to the following problem with a possible
cause....
Battery is getting drained while riding and if the bike is not keep on a
trickle charger over night - after about three days of commuting (about 10
miles each way) the battery will be dead. Volt meter test shows about 13v at
idle and about 14v a little above idle speed.
Went to dealer and asked about it and they confirmed that the volt numbers
are good but said I should see if there is a amp draw by measuring between
the negative terminal and the neg wire lead but I'm...

Shamelessly taken from craigslist:
Harley-Davidson: The most efficient way of converting gasoline into noise,
without the embarassing side effect of horsepower.

While sitting at the usual watering hole this morning, the subject
came up as to why some big V8's & V6's are now getting much better
fuel economy that others. For example Chevy, GMC. BMW & Honda/Acura
and closing the vavles on half their cylinders under light highway
cruise (under 80) in order to reduce intake manifold (parasitic
vaccum thus trading a V8 or V6's added friction for the less loss of
atatic intake manifold vacuum. The shut-off cylinders bounce like
springs on their compression with only friction and a small amount of
air heating loss in negative HP. Remember the old Cadillac 4-6-8
engines in the 80's? Well many MFG's are getting it to work as
advertised but are keeping the reasons quiet as to why a 505HP Z06
Vette can get 25 highway MPG as most the early caddi's either broke...

I just finished watching the second WSB race at Assen and I was
disapointed, not for the non Ducati team two ridiers that took 1st &
2nd but for the European Ducati bias to let this sort of (handicap BS
go on as if no-one is looking at such Ducati bias) I watch th 250
races & MGP for the riders, because there is true parity but WSB is
non rider competitive sham.
BTW, I got my August Cycle World with an extensive atricle called
"Titanium Flyers" or a high priced merger bike (actually 3 Ducati's )
with NCR titanium frames or $50,000.00 for the obsolete two valve, air
cooled Ducati, with titanium rods & valves + Cam gear and frame. It's
a joke. Why didn't they take a MGP or 999 and outfit it with titanium
thus justifying the exorbitant price? IOW, you can polish a turd until
your blue in the face but you still end up with a turd, No offence
ment to Tim on this one as you're racing retro Ducati's but $50,000
for an old two valve air cooled Duc seems a bit over the top.

Have the Japanese gone bonkers or what. Here we are in maybe the
biggest economic woe since the 1929 stock market crash and both Yamaha
& Suzuki come out with gas hog, very narrow focus DRAG strip bikes,
fer chrisakes.Us old farts may have the $$ to buy these toys but it
seems like the entended market is the 18-25 year olds,
BTW, while waiting at starbucks for more riders to show up for the
canyon run this morning we saw a sensible 150cc 85 MPG Chinese made
big wheel16' scooter with a CV X-mission & cintrifigal clutch plus
inclosed belt drive and pretty slick looking with good fit & finish. I
ask the owner working there how much and was shocked when he said
$1400 and -0-problems.150cc four stroke is just big enough to ride on
the feeways and he said it would go 85 MPH unless he had a headwind..I
swear the Chinese are going to run the Japanese and everyone else into
the poor house-:)
