day time dresses

I have a rant about day time dresses.. How come all of them are only
upto the knees and not longer than that? I'm looking for lovely summer
prints with mid length (between knee and ankle). I just can't get any.
I'm tall and slim but I have big calf muscles and I prefer not to show
them. Here Sam's and Costco sell summer dresses at decent prices but
they are all short. I'm looking at conventional stores (dillards, jcp
etc) but no luck.

Rant over, back to lurking..

Try ebay for vintage dresses from when skirts were longer - my mom sells
vintage clothes on ebay and sells a lot of these dresses, mostly to the
Bible Belt.
You could try some of those "modest wear" websites, the links on
lankylife.com, or sew your own.

a sewing machine can be your best friend :)
currently, dress lengths are midknee. if you sew, they can be
anywhere you please.

how's about some long skirts? there's always pretty hippy skirts and
broomstick skirts and denim skirts that are ankle length, i wear them all
summer too and find them everywhere.

you can wear them with everything and dress them up or down, even for the
beach or out to dinner!

I've found some solids at Old Navy for very reasonable. Also Kohl's if you
have them in your area. It's annoying - I too don't like shorter dresses~
