How Heaven and Earth Passed Away
David Curtis
When I first came to see as truth the fact that the Lord had
come in 70 AD and all prophecy had been fulfilled my first
objection was, "This means we are living in the new heaven
and the new earth!" My response to that was "Yea right!
If this is the New heaven and earth we got ripped off!"
Why did I feel that way? It was because I was looking for
a physical fulfillment of 2 Peter 3 and Revelation 21-22.
I thought that those passages were speaking of physical
truths, I now know differently, I didn't understand
apocalyptic language. The thing that changed my mind
was seeing how the Old Testament Scripture used the
concept of heaven and earth. Lets look at how the scripture
uses the concept of heaven and earth, I think you'll see
that it is not always used physically.

The old covenant is still in force upon those who are still bound by it. It
has not passed away, except for those Jews who have become dead to the Law
through acceptance of another, Jesus. As long as the Jew is still living in
the sight of the Law Covenant that was made with him, that Law Covenant has
not passed away, and thus to this very day that Law Covenant has not yet
passed away.
Only the people of Israel came to be under the Law. (Exodus 19:5,6;
Deuteronomy 4:4; 7:6; 26:18; Psalm 147:19; Isaiah 63:19; Amos 3:2; Romans
3:1,2) All the other nations were not given that Law Covenant. (Exodus
12:43,45; Deuteronomy 14:21; Romans 2:12,14) The Law becomes inactive for
any Jew who becomes dead to the Law through acceptance of Jesus. (Luke
16:14-31; Romans 7:1-6; 1 Corinthians 7:39) It does not automatically pass
away for the Jew, but such passes away for each Jewish believer. (2
Corinthians 3:14) And even then, it is the typical Law Covenant that passes
away (Colossians 2:16,17; Hebrews 7:11-28; 8:4,5,13; 10:1), not the reality
of God's eternal Law of love which is expressed the Law Covenant. --
Matthew 22:37-40; Romans 13:10; Galatians 5:14; James 2:8.

I do have one question for you...
How many paths are there to God (Heaven) today?
--
We were born wet, naked an hungry. Then things get worse.

It is not the Law that is dead, but rather the Jew becomes dead to the Law.
The Jew becomes unbound to the Law by becoming dead in Christ.
Romans 7:4 - Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law
through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who
was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit to God.

You can keep claiming this, but it doesn't change Scripture.
