The Virtues and Vices of the Sephiroth: Kether

Author: Tom
Date: Sep 22, 2007 22:37

Now we've come as far as it is possible to come. And we discover that we're
right back at the beginning. We're right where we've been sitting all
along. We've slid through the sephiroth like a serpent climbing a tree and
when we got to the top, we also found the root. The Wyrm swallows his own
tail. Kether is in Malkuth and Malkuth is in Kether.

Kether is the most profound of all sephiroth, the most basic, the loftiest,
the purest expression of God that there ever can be. And yet it's so common
and so obvious that we mostly just take it for granted. We overlook it.
Why not? It's always there. And yet, even though it is right there, as
close as it's possible to get, we cannot grasp it. We cannot make it our
possession.

It is infinitesimal and universal and eternal. The consciousness of Kether
is experienced but not conceived. It is both immediately obvious and yet
its essence cannot be contained in our minds. Kether permeates every aspect
of every form of intelligence. It is the consciousness of consciousness.
What Lao Tsu called "Tao" is what qabalists call "Kether".

A fundy-God thumper's qbl. I'd expect you to know the difference.

Heh, it wasn't all that practical.

Hmmm... I've read Tom's posts for a decade and half and they have
never lead me to even think of killing myself... maybe you have
Tom confused with Tyagi and his Church of Euthanasia.

While I'm sure Mika may encourage fucking... I've seen no evidence
that she encourages anyone to dope themselves up and/or attend
raves.

It's all in how you look at it and what you're after. I'd suggest
everyone at least develop automatic rigidity. I could point a finger
as an example but I think what's written sufficed.

They're related. Tom's on about God and Heaven, if can't have it that
way, it's "reality". I wish last bike race of his he lost didn't make
him so bitter. heh

Yeah, that's pretty much what I got out of it.

"Crowley says this.
Crowley says that.
You're a dumb ass."

I honestly don't give a shit what Crowley said. He's not my god.

I have enjoyed, and learnt from, all of Tom's discussions on the
Sephiroth. And when there is a contrasting view, then the details come
into focus. Yes, Mika will talk about sex, yes Tom will call you an
asshole, but is there anything for you to learn here? Forget the
delivery, concentrate on the message. You constantly complain of "null
content"; here is your chance to provide some. Ask some awkward
questions regarding these peoples views on the subject matter.

Why not join the discussion and tell us what you think about Kether,
or any of the other Sephiroth?

Tell us whether you agree with Tom, Jay, Mika, Rufus or Erwin, or any
of the other contributors, instead of this constant yapping and
snarling.
