What is a "magick moot"?

Are you referring to Dee's shew stone?
> was it not stolen? Has it been recovered?

IIRC, according to the museum's exhibition information booklet (not
mentioned on the display cards) the crystal orb on display with Dee's
items was not actually Dee's shew stone.

Ha. You mean such things like, for example, the Egyptian tomb relics
that the Brits stole and put in their museum?

A moot is a meeting of ppl in real life, in this case of a magickal
persuasion.

Perhaps belonged to, but not necessarily the one used for his Enochian
work. Lots of question marks.

Checking the on-line archives of the Times and the Independent, both
broadsheet newspapers, they report that the thefts were from the
Science Museum. Which is a *different* museum to the British Museum,
although still in the center of London.

I've contacted them, and I'm waiting for a response.

I can't think of any reason why it shouldn't be on public display.

No contradiction - check your dates. It looked like the article you
posted above was from 2004. Dee's Enochian related items could have
been held at the Science Museum for a while, stolen and recovered, and
then returned to the British Museum to be (finally) displayed to the
public in a new exhibit ("Enlightenment") which I saw in April 2007.
