Ending the world is SO last century.
We're all into existential dress, quantum-temporal-lapse and
hypothetical nonexistent cats in boxes, now.

In one Tradition, it is the recitation of the unpronouncible Name of God
backwards. In another, it is knowledge and recitation of all the nine
billion Names of God. Others probably exist. Take your pick.
Blessed be,
Baird

Hmmmmm... If pronouncing God's name backwards ends the world, what
on Earth does pronouncing it FORWARDS do?!?
Also, and just for my own curiosity, in exactly what sense is the
name of God considered to be "unpronouncable"?
Is it considered "unpronouncable" solely because one is forbidden
to say it, i.e., because one simply MUST NOT pronounce it (but one
COULD, were one so heathen as to choose to do so)?
Or, is it "unpronouncable" in the sense that it is actually and
physically impossible for a human mouth, tongue, lips, larynx, and
palatte to utter the requisite sounds, i.e., that one is INCAPABLE
of pronouncing it?

Do you think that these are real traditions? The "Nine Billion Names of
God"idea came from an Arthur C. Clarke short story.
In Qabalistic lore, there is a legend that the *correct* pronunciation of
the Tetragrammaton will destroy the world. I know of no legend in which the
pronunciation of the name of God backwards would have this effect.

Because there are people in this world willing to destroy it, we must
venture out into space in order to defend ourselves.
Of course I have worked on a ritual my entire life which will allow me
-- in my next life -- to remember this one vividly.
