If one has a clear path of what steps to take...sure, why not?

If one does not have a clear path and insists on beating a dead horse
in order to travel a hundred leagues, then no.

Vanity and other "sins" should be harnessed as dogs on your sled.
They can pull a great deal of weight. Just don't let them roam free,
lest they bite.

Fuck transformation. The quest for transformation is the ego's
equivalent of shopping for a new hat.

Yes, the search for "transformation" does always devolve into an
exercise in increasing one's vanity, since to seek to transform is
inevitably to seek to transform into something "better", and there's
only ever one real reason for that.

One transforms, no matter what.

The question is what the pious affirmation technique is likely to
render.

And that can be addressed by looking at the assumptions involved with
doing it.

Certainly people who practice it are motivated chiefly by
dissatisfaction with themselves, perhaps even a loathing.
