I can't take credit for coining the term. The honor belongs to Professor
John Spaeth of Brown University way back in 1929.

"We are lunatics from the hospital up the highway, psycho-ceramics, the
cracked pots of mankind."-R.P. McMurphey from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's
Nest", by Ken Kesey, 1962.

The field of psychoceramics really didn't get much traction until the
popularization of the internet, which provided previously unnoticed
crackpots with a much larger audience, some of whom appreciated their
tireless efforts.

Here's an archive of collective psychoceramic studies from Usenet's dark and
mysterious past.
