That's a bit of bombastic hyperbole, don't you think?

Yeah, sure.
Personally, I like the Ciceros. I like some of the other GD people
they hang out with. I'm not fond of Zink or Griffen, or even Zalewski.
They're of similar ilk. I liked that the Ciceros are ecumenical, and
seem to care more about brotherhood than any one particular facet of
the GD. They haven't publicly taken side in some of the crap that goes
down between various groups, and that's a good thing. It's in their
best interest too, as authors, and I respect people who have that kind
of insight.
I think a lot of their mystery tradition is bollocks, and for a while
I was convinced the GD and all its many tendrils was a manifestation
of evil of cthulhoid proportions. I was sure it could do nothing
spiritually but create argumentative intellectual elitists who cared
more about owning the most original Mathers manuscripts than about
what was written on them.
Then I found out someone I know and respect is secretly one of the top
three heads of a popular GD group. This guy is knowledgeable, even-
tempered, wise, and humble. He's done more traditional magick than
anyone I've met. And at the same time, he's really advanced in the GD
system. So I give the GD system the benefit of the doubt, sometimes.
Not everyone that comes out of it is a Mathers clone.
I attribute his actual magickal prowess to the traditional methods he
employs in parallel to his initiations in the GD structure though.
But I could be wrong.
