Other way around. L. Ron Hubbard was an associate of Jack Parsons, who
was a student of Crowley's magick, though Parsons and Crowley never
met.
Parsons indicated that while Hubbard was useful in a particular
magical working, he eventually decamped with Parsons' wife and the
funds of a partnership the two men had started.
Hubbard at various times claimed he associated with Parsons as part of
a secret Naval intelligence operation to break up a ring of "black
magicians" who endangered national security (Parsons was a founding
member of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena) but in at least
one later address claimed to have been a friend of Crowley's.
Hubbard and Crowlery never met, but in correspondence with members of
the OTO in California, Crowley expressed distrust and dislike of
Hubbard based on reports from Parsons and others.
