I think a mesh body mold is used and wires (of couse) and a gimmick
couch. Am i close?

The couch is just a deceptive base. It has a hollow space in it for
the assistant to hide in. The deceptive base is usually disguised as a
couch, bench, or table.
I have even seen versions of this illusion where black art is used to
hide the assistant, and switch for the form.
