Masuda's FROZEN IN TIME

I just bought this one from Joe Stevens and it's a killer. Spectator
can name ANY time on a clock (NO force, it's 100%% free choice. From
your pocket you bring out a photograph of a clock. Now get this, the
time shown on the photograph matches perfectly the time the spectator
called out.

It's uncanny, it's weird, it's baffling, and here's how it works.

You can set the time on the clock on the photograph just like you set
the time on a regular clock with hands. There is a little knob on the
back that allows you to set the time. Ingenious! There are all kinds
of ways to build this up, it's a real reputation maker.

$90.oo from your favorite magic dealer, and worth every penny.

I guess I should say it's more of a "dial" than a knob, it's flat, not
protruding. When you ask one hand or two, it operates just like a
clock, so it has an hour hand and a minute hand. The dial (on the back
of course) can be worked with one finger.

The only negative I have about it is the goofy looking frame it comes
in. This is definately not an American frame, most likely European or
Asian. I wish they would make one with a good old "normal" looking
brass frame.

Yes, I understand your problem. It all comes down to gear ratio when
the thing is designed as to whether you can speed dial it (so to speak)
or not.

I also was watching this for a while (no pun intended). I did find it
at a magic dealer/flea market for 40 bucks! I love this thing. I use a
story about my grandfather when I was younger doing a time trick with
his pocket watch and I couldn't figure it out. Then I say that he was
going to tell me when I was a little older...but he died. (I have made
a person cry...I felt bad lying) Then I found this picture in his
bedroom when we went to clean it up. I had it framed so nothing could
mess the memories up, but its weird I think grandpa is still around and
might be able to do the trick from where he is at for you....the I
proceed with the trick. (I have the frame in old paper with a piece of
tape, to make it look perfect). This is a trick that is amazing with a
story but a cool trinket without...
