Can anyone give me some good tricks to do with flash paper? I have a couple
card tricks, I'd like some more, but also some other tricks not involving
cards.
Email me privately if you want. Thanks!

Time for me to once again post the secret to the beloved LEARY HAND
FLASHER, which uses flash paper.
You will need one of those champagne party poppers found in dollar
stores, party supply shops, etc. They are the little plastic champagne
bottles with a string hanging out. The string is pulled and POP,
streamers fly out.
OK, once you get this thing home pull the little cardboard tab out of
the end and remove the streamers. Leave the little firecracker in
there. Place a loose little ball of flash paper (single little sheet)
inside there and go outside. Pointing the party popper away from all
humans and structures, pull the string and POW, a ball of fire will
shoot out of your fist! Impresses the chicks too!

This is John Bannon's trick, SHRIEK OF THE MUTILATED.
Effect:
A pack of Zig-Zag cigarette papers is brought out along with a long
needle (sold as Doll Needles in arts and crafts shops).
A cigarette paper is removed from the pack and torn into several pieces
in front of the spectators. The torn paper is then balled up and
placed on the end of the needle. A cigarette lighter lights the ball
which flames up and dies down. After the brief fire the ball of paper
is seen still on the end of the needle. The magician, or someone else,
removes the paper, opens it, and it is completely restored!

I've been using this for long awhile, this is a Jim Pace Idea:
Try attaching a lighter (I prefer the electronic one) to a badge reel
and attach the reel to your Rt hip pocket. On the lighter, attach a
small roach, er alligator clip... Jim uses flash cotton with sparkle
powder, I prefer flash paper folded up to a 1-2 cm square.
Reset is quick and easy. What's it for? Do I really need to tell you
why you need to produce a ball of fire?
I vaguely remembering leary mentioning the champene popper idea...I
can't wait to try that one out. Is the dollar store open christmas
day?

Hey Mitch,
'you think your flash paper principle will work those bang-snaps (
paper balls that are filled with a cap composition that goes BANG when
drop them)? Have you ever tried it?

Al, I've never been able to get them to work with FP, let me know if
you have any luck.

Yes, there is a small little booklet on tricks with flash paper, it's
sold by most magic dealers. The exact title and author's name aren't
springing to mind, so fire off an e-mail to your favorite magic dealer
and ask him about it.
