interesting appearance of a helicopter
in the introductory spiel it said this could be done "surrounded"
because of the "unique" methodology
what does everyone think?-is it a unique all around production or the
use of "help"

I think that the unique part is that it is able to be done
surrounded. I have yet to see another helicopter appearance done
surrounded with the spectator's eyes open (without blindfolds).
A part that is not very unique is that it could be one of those
helicopters in which they collapse a little bit. (the tail is pushed
into the body of the helicopter).

Magicmax... look again, they are all blindfolded...hard to tell with
the poor video quality...
It just looks like a flat shell to me... first of all, the
"helicopter" they produced is not even full sized... it's a scaled
down version of the real thing... here's the specs on the real
Robinson R22 helicopter:

You can see from the drawing that the height from the skids to the
top
of the canopy is 69" (5'9"), and unless those magicians are both over
7' tall, which they probably aren't, then the thing they produced is
nowhere near 5'9" tall (see the vid at about 2:30 where they are
standing on the same platform and compare their heights)...
Here's what I think happened...
OR, there was only a front half shell... since the people at the back
were blindfolded and couldn't see whether there was a back to the
chopper or not....

I think the folding heli comes out from the base. You never saw the
back of the heli. Could be empty shell as Q said. When the video
start
you can see through under the prop but on the end you can not. Stop
the video at 2:21 and you'll see.

all of that curtain material at the top could hide an elephant...
and
it looks like there is a bar/pipe right across the top of the frame
work where the prop (propeller) pedestal ends which could be the
hinge
to let the shell swing down...
So, personally, I am leaning toward believing that the shell is at
the
top of the enclosure....
either way, that isn't any real helicopter there... even the windows
have been blacked out so you can't see thru to tell if there is a
back
half to it...

Yes you right there is enough space in the top to hide the CN Tower.
The base has enough space either. One of us just found out a new
method. LOL

And I just found the blindfolds that the spectators wear. The method
that Qed suggested has a lot of potential for other illusions.

this is not the best production of a chopper I've seen... I really
like it when the thing is produced and the rotors are spinning, and
the magician is sitting inside... although it's pretty hard to troupe
with something like that! That type of production is only appropriate
for a permanent or long-term show in a fixed venue....
This particular production looks lightweight and fairly easy to move
from show to show...

i like the megga out side nite time or day time large scale
illusions
like jet airplanes appear or vanish on tar mac runway or vanish as
the
airplane takes off in mif flight or mark and brains box to
hellicopter
illusion in day time wih thehelp of cool franz harary
and franz fall appart in mid air to appear on side of helicopter in
mid air
and franz on top of tall building has radio controled heliocopter fl
all a round in blue sky with some clouds in the air girl raise
circleshield as radio controled helicopter goes a bove circle shild
fora brief moment now! wow! the helicopter is now a real red
helicopter in mid air franz hands contraol it to go up an down then
land we get a complet three 6 pan vew of all sides of reall red
helicopter and franz takes off in helicopter cool
iallways wounder if that could be done and yep franz harary prooved
it
sure can be done way cool:)
i would like for franz, lance, criss, blaine, and many masked
magicians and copperfild, and the pendragons and penn and teller make
a jet airplane appear in mid air:)
