This is a half-assed review...more of a recommendation. I got this
DVD last week and loved it. On the 2 disc DVD Chris performs his
show, explains effects and gives an interview.

His performance is not my style, (as a matter a fact, it made me
cringe..promising kids a wii or playstation 3 to get their attention),
but I will no way knock it because It was -very- refreshing to see a
different approach then the normal kid show.

It did get me to open my mind a little bit - if you told me you can
enterain children with a card effect I would strongly disagree. He
showed 2 different card effects from his show (while one I would NEVER
perform, the second one I loved..I tested it out with the little
relatives during the 4th weekend and it worked great as a kid effect,
i dunno if I'll try it in my kids show yet, it's not really a stand
alone effect..I hate to use "worth the price of the dvd" but....)

It was also comforting to hear his encouragment that all the standard
effects (pom pom sticks, etc) have stood the test of time for a
reason, and there is no shame on doing a show with all of them as long
as it's your artistic taste. As a matter of fact he did a great magic
coloring book routine but did so as a contest. I do the coloring book
too, but instead of passe bottles, I do passe coloring books (I forget
where I got the idea from).

The DVD doesn't not teach new effects, marketing, or selling yourself,
but rather it is a very refreshing look on kid shows. If you do kid
shows, I give it a thumbs up!
