As many of you have probably seen the new season 2 promo, I think the
most amazing feat is Criss walking across the pool.
My question, is does anyone have any theories on how this is done?
First off let me stop any Loyal who is going to instantly start hatin'
on me because of the question. I'd like to state that I love Criss's
work, I think he's a tremendous preformer, the best I've seen. I love
to be entertained by his show but I also like to try and figure things
out, that's just one of the ways I like to enjoy the show.
Criss openly states that what he does is an illusion therefore trying
to put your head to work and figure out how he does it isn't bashing
him, it's just allowing your mind to do what it instictively wants to
do when it sees something incredible, figure it out.
My theory would be that he walks on some sort of thin piece of
plexiglass or something similar that is transparent and hard to see in
water though I'm not sure there is anything (besides diamonds) that
become invisible in water. And the idea that something from above is
suspending him could be debunked because it'd be impossible to balance
yourself to give the illusion you're walking hanging from a line.
So if anyone has any ideas on how it's possible feel free to discuss
it. This isn't an open invitation for Criss haters, hate somewhere
else, it's just a place to openly have an intelligent discussion.

This is a pretty simple trick. Criss is just amazing with his
showmanship. The trick is given away when the gril swimms under him. If
you watch her air bubles, and how they break, you will understand how
the trick is done. also where he takes off his shoes, he conviently
takes a large step over where his shoes came off. I think Criss is
amazing, and would hate to go any further with my explination, so im
going to stop here.

Well, if you'd like to have a discussion on this topic personally, and
not in the open, feel free to message me on aim mrd3stiny703. I'm an
aspiring magician/illusionist and really trying to get in the mind of
how things work, and how to be a great preformer much like Criss.

I don't know if I'm the only one who noticed this, but i believe it was
the Walk On Water episode, the one where He has "Natasha". Anyways, the
part where he makes her "human" again, you can tell that, after his
close up where he says that he loves her, they switched out the
manaquien with a real person. The manaquien had pale yellow-ish skin
and the person was tan and she had tan lines, i noticed this thanks to
TiVo. I don't want to make anyone mad that i noticed that and have them
think that I'm like trying to ruin him or something(god no!), but you
think that they could've tried to cover that up a bit more. right?

That show was awesome! I love Criss. Does anybody know when he films in
Vegas? I would love to fly there to see him perform live. This guy
rocks!

Everyone has to remember that everything Criss does is pre-staged.
Yes.. he uses stooges. Yes.. he stops the camera periodically and
things are moved. Yes.. some of the people involved in the effects are
part of his production company. How does he walk on water? Obviously he
walks on something other than water. Anything else is physically
impossible. He 'could' be walking on plexiglass, or he 'could' be
supported by cables. Either way.. it was entertaining for the audience
and thats all that matters. The same goes for Natashia.. she was
obviously switched under cover of Criss puttings himself between the
camera and the mannequin. It was not original, Copperfields done the
same type of effect, but, again, it was entertaining. The only thing
that concerns me is what the live audience sees and the camera
stoppages. Is Criss giving away secrets to the live audience? Like the
effect last week where the young lady was put on a pedestal, concealed
by numerous walls of plywood, and then vanished in front of a
surrounded audience. If you watch the 'live audience cam' in the bottom
right corner of the screen, as the young lady is waving her hand you
will see four people in the shot.. then suddenly in one instant, there
is no one in the shot. The 'live' camera was stopped. Why was it
stopped? Because there is only one way for the young lady to get out
from the effect.. the same way she got in. Anything else is impossible.
She left the same was she entered, only she wasn't "readily"
recognized. The camera stoppage was necessary to make sure the tv
audience didn't see what was actually happening. But.. what did the
live audience see. Some of them saw the secret, and I have mixed
emotions about this.. BUT.. One thing I don't have mixed emotions about
is -when a magician tells me something is live, or unedited, or no
stooges are used, then I expect him or her to honor that pledge.. This
is my only complaint with the show to date. Most of the effects are
entertaining and creative, and I'm glad Criss has this show to showcase
his magic. I frequently publish info and video's about Criss on my web
site and in my blog. I would like to extend an invitation to anyone
'SERIOUS' about magic to subscribe to my free newsletter, the Magic
Roadshow. I will publish new info and press releases about Criss, David
Blaine, Copperfield, and other major magicians as it becomes
available..

Watch the way Criss walks in the water, it's puppet-like. Like he's
being held up and his feet must go down flat but there is no weight
being put on them, they float. Even if the show is filmed sto-and-go it
does a very good job of making you go "cool"

I don't think that this was worth giving him a show. I think Criss
needs to start having new illusions designed rather than doing ones
that have been around for years. For example, the Walk on Water
illusion was created by Andre' Kole. He has been performing it for
almost 20 years and taped it for a Discovery Channel Special which
aired in December called "The Miracles of Jesus". Millions watched him
on the Discovery Channel as He walked across a lake. He also preforms
it at every show. The way that Criss betrays all his ( i would not call
illusions but) stunts is a joke.
