Not kidding at all; I saw the damn thing like 5 times on Food Network.
In the commercial he seriously touted this gyro thing as an act for the
store's Turkey Day sale. I don't have any problems with a magician
making money from sponsors(I think Copperfield made a few bucks from
Polaroid back in the 80's, IIRC...anyone confirm this?) but THIS is
simply whoring yourself out to the highest bidder.

That's what I was thinking of(strange it was posted as I was asking the
question about this), wasn't Polaroid. I thought he did some in the 80's
for the dancing hanky too.
