Bill Switches (I'm Not Impressed)

Maybe I should say "I'm hard to impress". right now the market is
being flooded with bill switch books, manuscripts, and especially DVDs.
It seems every magician and his brother has an angle on the ever
popular Bill Switch.

The problem is that they all SUCK!!! I just watched Skullcracker with
a friend and if you can't tell how this trick is done BEFORE learning
the secret, you're brain dead. Look at the guys fingers as he holds
the bill, does that or does that not look like he's getting ready to
pull a fast one? He's simly folding the damn thing over for heaven's
sake!

Now, you're not going to believe this...BUY THE DVD SKULLCRACKER! "Oh,
Leary, we knew you were nuts, but usually there is some sort of twisted
logic to your madness." Yes, buy the DVD, forget the f***ing bill
switch, and go to the section on the Sanada gimmick. This single piece
of film is worth 5 times the price of the DVD. I won't spoil the fun,
just buy it. He has some ideas that are pure genius!

So Mitch,

As luck would have it, I was just going to post a request for a
reference on a good TT-less bill switch. Sounds like you're
recommending this Lovick book? Anything more succinct that you know
of? I have seen many switches, handlings, etc, but I'm looking for
someone who's found a really good handling on a TT-less switch.

Opinions? Recommendations?

Sorry if this is a duplicate - looks like my original reply went off
into hyperspace...

I was wondering if you'd recommend this Lovick book for a TT-less bill
switch. I've been futzing with a number of handlings, most of which
likely originated with a tip. I've been looking for a write up (or
video) of a good tip-less bill switch.

Comments? Recommendations?

Thanks.....

I have never bothered with "modern" bill/billet switches except for some
of the stuff Docc Hilford has put out the last few years, and if I
remember rightly, Daniel Garcia on his "DG Project" DVDs has a good
TT-less bill switch as part of another effect (though I will add, it is
just a slight variation on something in Corinda's 13 steps that I have
been using for about 6yrs now!).

I wrote a review on the Lovick $100 Bill Switch book if you want to
read it. It's just one guy's opinion, but I guess that goes without
saying anyways...

Thanks, all for the timely responses. Got some looking to do inside my
Corinda, crawl thru some of my Doc Hilford stuff to find what was
referenced, and read the referenced review, and in all likelihood, I'll
pick up a copy (thanks, Mitch!). Good stuff - thanks!
