"Signal 11 (optional): Automation Pre-Call. This is normally used if you
have one automation feeding two different machines, with different operations
or workpieces. The pre-call signals the automation to get a part ready to load
for the machine requesting it, so that your machine isn't sitting idle waiting
on the automation to go retrieve a part after it requests loading."

I am developing an HMI using GE Fanuc Focas API designed for Ethernet.
Have designed the architecture based upon object oriented analysis while
developing server client using Visual C++. Client requirements to the
automation company that I work for, call for an overhead rail-mounted robot
servicing two CNC machines and a two-way conveyor system which performs
loading/unloading. The HMI talks to the CNC reading/writing program
parameters such as Tool Wear this allows the operator to effect tool wear
changes without stopping the work cell or the robot sliding back and forth.
These changes to tool wear will be written out to ODBC/SQL database
Along with Fanuc my employer distributes and supports HAAS as well.
Boss would like developed a real-time data SCADA work cell CIM application
with database connectivity.
Past week we had three engineers from GE come in to demonstrate
Proficy Machine Edition, by 3pm they had not established a socket to the
machine (3-way 16i) which I had accomplished my second day of work.
However somewhat disappointed with GE, so the boss and his wife have
taken a warm vacation this next week with all its development
responsibility residing to me.
