My gut feeling is you have a _really_ good idea. Provided the soap
doesn't have anything in it that will attack the aluminum. (Dishwashing
liquid, or liquid hand soap come to mind as being good choices to start
with.)

You can't 'idiot proof' anything....every time you try, they just make
better idiots.

You know Ive thought about this...

If there is such a thing as re-incarnation, I think I'd like to be a dog.

Yes, being a dog sounds like it would be kinda nice to me.

A male dog...and one that spends most of his free time "hanging out" in the
Safeway parking lot.....

I used to work at a place where we made 3/32 dia tube with 10 thou wall by
the forward impact extrusion process. The material was 6062, the dies were
carbide of a special grade (I wasn't allowed to know what - it was
proprietory info) and the lubricant was a witches brew of zinc stearate and
a compound of calcium mixed up with trike into a solution The Aluminium
slugs were dipped in this solution and then allowed to dry before going t
the press. This was a high volume process at well over 5,000 tubes a day.
