suggested checking for a difference in potential of the electrical ground of
the AC socket the receiver is plugged into and any earth ground that the

Back to the subject of the Wellbrook. I ordered a Wellbrook ALA-330S
antenna about 1.5 years ago for delivery to my home in a suburb of
Detroit, MI. I don't know what happened, but after mounting on my
roof, the antenna was absolutely dead to signals. It received
absolutely nothing. My Butternut vertical ham antenna received
shortwave signals okay (as well as an 80/40 meter antenna could), so I
was assured that the problem was not in my TenTec RX-350 receiver.
After discussing the problem with Andy over the phone he very kindly
sent me a new antenna, first the control box and second, a new loop
(after I DHL'd the old control box back to him). The second specimen
exhibited the same exact symptoms, no reception of ANY signals. I
replaced the cables and tried every possible way to make...
