Hi all. My niece is a Grade 6 teacher in our home town in Manitoba, Canada.
She is doing a project with her class called "Flat Selves". It's inspired
by a childrens book in which the main character gets flattened by a falling
bulletin board. But what they discovered is that "Flat Stanley" can travel
the world in an envelope. So, all the kids made "Flat Selves" -- I have a
12-year-old boy named "Flat Jared". The idea is for me to take Flat Jared
with me wherever I go and take pictures of him in various places and doing
various things, and pick up souvenirs.
What I'm asking for then, is for a few als'ers to help out by taking
Jared -- or a clone -- around your neighborhood for a couple of days, take
some pictures of your part of the world and provide a few small souvenirs
and a bit of a "diary" of his adventures.

address. I'll send back a photo of myself and Flat Jared taken at my
daughter's wedding (or something similar) just to give you an idea. We
gotta do this quick, though. They need everything back my mid-June, which
really means you'd have to send it back at the beginning of June
