Responsible for delivering Thomson Reuters third party content strategy by bringing content into the organization through robust third party content supplier relationship management, negotiation and prioritization skills together with comprehensive understanding of the organization leading to increased revenue, cost savings and improve quality. Also ensure we comply with our contractual obligations to suppliers, helping to create a content compliance culture across Thomson Reuters. Good technical understanding of the content acquisition process & tools as well as the asset classes to be acquired is required. * Act as liaison and provide support with and to other Thomson Reuters staff and business units e.g. Business Divisions, Sales, Content Specialists, Data Operations, GBA, on relationship/s for FGA, strategic and non-strategic suppliers; * Obtaining, in the most efficient manner, the content Reuters requires to implement its business plans from those suppliers, as and where appropriate; * Act as a regional subject matter expert for third party and exchange content related issues, current issues in industry/market, future developments, content usage etc; * Understand the implications of license terms with suppliers as the licensed content is distributed and otherwise used by Thomson Reuters; * Support Sales Channel where necessary on licensing Reuters content services to subscribers, working closely with account managers, and other business areas as applicable; * Support Divisions in how they devise commercial/business models; * Responsible for maintaining product knowledge, as applicable, including how required product use relates back to usage rights as licensed from suppliers; * Ensure key frontline stakeholders are informed of content enhancements and new acquisitions; * Ensure appropriate escalation points are followed; * Be a centre of excellence for all issues relating to third party content for Thomson Reuters. * 5+ years experience in content role. * Full time position, located in New York. * Ability to be a strong individual contributor. * Taking initiative is a norm. * Detail oriented. * Equally able to grasp the overlying issues (the %%27big picture%%27), and able to understand and balance with important detail. * Proven negotiation skills. * Good understanding of financial instruments and how they figure into individual and entity clients%%27 workflow. * An understanding of Reuters infrastructure preferred. * Data content management knowledge and experience, either from within Thomson Reuters or from another market data vendor, or user experience understanding data workflows. * Ability to differentiate between tactical and strategic issues, and influence internal and external customers. * Good understanding of Thomson Reuters competitors and their content strengths. * Good understanding of the role Thomson Reuters plays, regarding various asset classes, between data source suppliers, and clients. * Understanding of Thomson Reuter%%27s timeseries and reference databases, and head end and distribution networks (IDN & RDN). * Commercial astuteness. * Demonstrable %%27can do%%27 attitude and commitment to get things done. * Markets experience with details cross-market knowledge. * Client or vendor relationship experience. * Project management experience. * Strong decision making skills. * Strong influencing and networking skills. * Ability to influence decisions in strategic relationships. * Very self-motivated and goal orientated. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills. * Creative problem solving and negotiation skills. * Knowledge and understanding of Thomson Reuters business and processes. * Understanding of Thomson Reuters product & market strategy, including keeping pace with ongoing changes.
