Description: External Job Title Brand Manager, Progressive Adult Beverages AutoReqId 17788BR Function Marketing Type of Job Full Time Country United States External Job Description Purpose: This position is accountable for the implementation of commercial business plans in support of the P&L goals for the PAB portfolio of brands. This is a key position within the organization with regard to day-to-day brand management including: developing consumer-centric business plans and monitors their execution; understanding and evaluating the effectiveness of the brand commercial growth drivers. .Decision Making / Financial Responsibility: Role will manage spending in excess of $5 million (minimum). Decisions will be made regarding how best to implement commercial choices at a day-to-day operational level within identified quality, cost and time constraints. Decisions will have an impact on the execution quality of brand plans, and the ability of business units to achieve volume and profitability goals. Role will be expected to manage investment and activity trade-offs on a daily basis (i.e. within already agreed strategic direction) between channels and geographic business units (e.g. how much media is invested in Market X as opposed to Market Y during a specific time period) Management Responsibility: oResponsible for development of brand commercial strategy, subject to necessary consultation and approval. oResponsible for briefing, development and internal communication of commercial Brand Growth Levers. oResponsible for the development, under supervision, of Communication Briefs, in particular for trade communications oResponsible for routine and ad hoc brand and category performance analysis, plus making recommendations to address or exploit issues and opportunities. oResponsible for collecting competitive intelligence and recommending appropriate action. oResponsible for managing some brand renovation projects (line extensions, new packs). oManage monthly financial/brand reports, including tracking of marketing budget expenditures.

Complexity of Role: Role covers a range of business management tasks across the Diageo Way of Brand building (DWBB/DWBBII) and also the Diageo Way of Selling, processes including: involvement in development of strategic plan; serving 4 Divisions (Sales clusters); information Search and Spin link to Global Brand Teams. Key Outputs/Deliverables: .Brand GAMEPLAN (Strategic Plans) - the national activity plans flowing from the agreed consumer-driven strategies which provide direction, tools and materials for activation of the national strategy, including cross-cluster program creative development and calendarization, competitive analysis and war-gaming, and national/global search and spin. .Brand budget management and activities managed to approved quality and budget parameters. .Communication and Activity Briefs to internal groups (e.g., Regional Marketing Teams, Commercial Service) and external agencies. .Implementation of key elements of brand plan such as packaging or SKU changes/introduction, PR activity, national pricing changes, media plans. .Codification of Brand Growth Levers. Experience: .3-5 years marketing experience in Consumer Packaged Goods Company (preferred); .MBA preferred .Thorough knowledge of the adult beverage industry a plus .Thorough knowledge of beer market preferred, but not required .Great understanding of commercial side of the business including Divisional Sales Teams, National Account Teams, Retail Teams. .Effective grasp of consumer strategy and industry competitive dynamics .Exposure/Contributor to promotions development .Effective sales, negotiation and presentation skills .Brand cost center management .Effective brand project management .Effective problem solving, and decision making .Proven success in fast paced environment .Must understand how to execute with excellence via wholesalers .Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high priority projects effectively .Ability to analyze data and specific market information while recommending business action.
